Captain Jerry Teel offers 30 years of professional fishing and boating
experience. He has fished extensively throughout north, south, and
central America for a vast variety of game fish. He is now offering
guide service in the Hatteras Island, NC area.
Capt. Teel started a
professional charter service in 1980. The south Florida service mainly
targeted sailfish from the Palm Beaches to Key West. Shortly there after
he focused on fishing the King Mackerel tournaments from Morehead to
Texas. In several events he placed in the top ten.
In the late
1980’s he started to change over to big game fishing charters. He
traveled extensively in pursuit of Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish,
Tuna, Wahoo and Dolphin. Some of his stops include Hatteras, the
Bahamas, Venezuela, Mexico, Costa Rica and Belize. Many of these areas
offer flats fishing. Capt. Teel quickly learned that he had a new
passion in life. He moved back home to North Carolina and started
fishing for Trout, Redfish and Flounder.
In 1997 he started spending
most of his fishing time in Hatteras. He realized that there was an
almost untapped resource and client base. He is now a full time Hatteras
Island resident and charters exclusively for inshore species. He finds
inshore fishing more rewarding for himself and his clients. He’s
proficient in the waters around Avon, Buxton, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo,
Frisco and Hatters in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Captain
Jerry has appeared as a guide boat on the Discovery channel series
“Stunt Junkies”. He made his second television debut as the guide boat
on Herb Gordan’s “Get Hooked on the Weekend Fisherman” series TV show.
